Father and son bikingWith so many things to get done every day, finding quality time with your kids can be difficult. Thankfully, by being just a little bit creative in your regular activities, you moms out there—working or stay-at-home—can squeeze in more bonding time with your children.

Take them exercising with you.

While getting some much-needed exercise, you can still bond with your young ones. When you go for a walk, you can take your children—in a front-pack or stroller for babies—with you. If you often go biking, let them ride their own bikes or use a cargo bike kid carrier to take them with you, recommends MADSEN Cycles. In any physical activity though, remember to go at a pace suitable for your children and ensure their safety at all times.

Introduce them to your hobby.

Letting your kids do the activities you love with you can be not only fun but also a learning experience for them. Be it painting, collecting stamps, or baking, you can provide them with the materials needed and teach them the basics of the activity. Don’t pressure them into liking your hobby, however, and just let them decide for themselves if they want to take up the activity or not.

Do household chores with them.

Get the help you need and instill a sense of responsibility into your children by assigning them household tasks. Washing the dishes, weeding the garden, folding clean laundry, or bathing the dog are chores you can do with your kids. Find a way to make the task less of a chore. For example, you can sing with them while working or promise them a simple reward for a job well done.
